The 2012 BCSA Fine Arts Competition was held here on March 8th and 9th. Over 400 students from 12 schools competed in this year's competition. Our students represented ZCS for the glory of God. We placed first in National Bible Quizzing (High School) and General Bible Knowledge. We placed 2nd in overall points – only 61 points behind the 1st place winner. We placed 1st in the Academic and Spiritual division, 2nd in the Art division, and 3rd in the Speech and Industrial Arts divisions. Edith Howell won outstanding female competitor while Lana Howell placed 2nd and Cara Brown came in 4th. We're so thankful for our students! Not only for the hard work that they put in preparing for competition, but also for all their help getting the building and grounds ready as well as the jobs they perform to keep the competition running smoothly. Several of the students will perform their competition pieces during the Spring Program on March 30th at 7 p.m. Their art pieces will also be on display before and after the program.
Hosting the Fine Arts Competition is a huge undertaking and we could not do it without much help! We would like to thank all of those who helped in any way in the food service area! Whether you baked pies or helped serve food, we appreciate your service to the Lord in this area. We would also like to thank everyone who helped in the office printing certificates and tallying points. We would like to say a special thank you to Mr. Thompson and his work with the clean-up crew, to Miss Ball, Mrs. Shaver, and Mr. Anderson for holding doors, and to the boys from Wayside Christian School who help us during clean-up. We're so blessed to have church members, alumni, students, and fellow believers that exemplify Colossians 3:23, "And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men."
